CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Aaron Krein, CPA

Aaron is the Chief Financial Officer at Epiphany Group, where he oversees the financial health of the enterprise and partners with each division to manage budgets, cash flow, and long-term growth strategies. Since joining the team in 2018, he has played a key role in supporting major business and investment decisions, ensuring financial reporting is accurate, compliant, and aligned with the firm’s strategic goals.
 
With degrees in finance and accounting from the University of Lethbridge and a completed CPA designation, Aaron brings deep expertise in financial analysis, including modeling, project accounting, and valuations. Known for his sharp analytical mind and lighthearted spirit, he’s also the unofficial source of office pranks—keeping the team on its toes.
 
When he’s not crunching numbers, Aaron stays active by skiing, hiking, golfing, and diving into new learning adventures.

Darryl Kenna

As CEO of Epiphany Group, Darryl has guided the company from its inception into a private asset management company specializing in real estate and vertically aligned businesses. With nearly 30 years of entrepreneurial and executive experience, he brings deep insight and mentorship to those around him, fostering a values-driven, emotionally intelligent team culture that sets Epiphany Group apart.
 
Darryl oversees strategic direction, capital development—including oversight of the Legacy Investment Mutual Fund Trust—and alignment across the enterprise’s executive leadership. He is directly accountable to the Board for Epiphany Group’s strategic progress and serves as a Board Member for both Epiphany Group and Legacy Mutual Fund Trust.
 
Before founding Trophy Fish in 2012 and Epiphany Group in 2015, Darryl was a founding partner at Laurie, Kenna, and Associates, an award-winning financial planning firm where he earned designations as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Elderly Planning Counsellor (EPC).
 
In 2022, Darryl published his first business book, Vision Meets Execution, exploring the dynamic relationship between CEO and COO leadership. When not working or traveling, he enjoys hiking, biking, and fishing in Waterton, the place he proudly calls home.

Angie Nilsson

Angie Nilsson is the Chief Operating Officer and a Board Member of Epiphany Group, where she has been a driving force since its inception. With over 20 years of experience across teaching, management, and financial services, Angie brings a unique blend of strategic insight and people-centered leadership to the organization. She was a founding partner in a business consulting firm that helped lay the foundation for what is now Epiphany Group.


Angie leads with a values-driven approach, fostering a strong company culture while designing and executing strategic initiatives across teams. She oversees operations, refines business processes, and mentors emerging leaders throughout the enterprise. Her expertise in systems, people, and performance makes her a trusted problem solver and a supportive presence within the organization.


Known for her curiosity and connection, Angie thrives on learning what makes people unique and helping them grow. She recently completed her MBA and continues to pursue lifelong learning with passion. Outside of work, she finds joy in adventure—whether it’s traveling to new places, hiking mountains, spending time with her family, or soaking up the serenity of being on or in the water.

HEAD OF PORTFOLIO

Savanna Tavares, CPA

Savanna is the Head of Portfolio at Epiphany Group and has been a pivotal member of the team since 2019. With an Accounting degree from the University of Lethbridge and a CPA designation, she leads the financial performance strategy for the firm’s real estate holdings and Trust, ensuring optimal portfolio outcomes and strong returns for stakeholders.
 
Her expertise spans cash management, liquidity oversight, and financial analysis, making her a key contributor to strategic investment decisions. Savanna is actively involved in property acquisitions, evaluating new opportunities, and partnering with property managers to drive continuous improvement across assets.
 
Outside of work, Savanna channels her energy into running, golfing, and staying active at the gym. A visionary and lifelong learner, she’s always exploring new ideas and diving into her next big project.

EXECUTIVE

Tania Stilson

Tania has been the CEO of Acera Insurance Solutions Group since inception. As a business visionary, she has worked alongside her team to grow the business from a start-up insurance company in 2014 to one of the largest brokerages in southern Alberta which services personal, farm, and commercial clients across Western Canada. Tania and the team continually strive for growth, committed to delivering personalized solutions for insurance through their collective forward-thinking approach.
As a passionate community-builder, Tania continues to share her leadership, organizational skills, and life experiences by volunteering with many organizations in Southern Alberta and across Canada.
When she is not working or volunteering, she enjoys time outdoors, reading a good book, gardening, and connecting with family and friends.

EXECUTIVE

Matt Hemmerling

Matt has been with Braemore Management since 2017, elevating to Broker and CEO in January 2021. Matt holds a Broker license with the Real Estate Council of Alberta and the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission and was the recipient of the 2021 Rising Star award from Lethbridge College (Polytechnic). He leads Braemore Management with a vision driven by professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to accountability, and a focus on delivering exceptional results.
Away from work Matt will spend as much time as possible with his wife and 2 kids, being outdoors, and finding time to sneak away for a quick 18 holes.
Paralegal & Office Manager

Kelsey Burgess

Kelsey is the organization’s internal paralegal, overseeing all legal matters across the enterprise. She works closely with our shareholder group, acting as a key point of contact for initial inquiries and maintaining the investor portal with precision and care. She also supports the Epiphany Group operations to ensure the office runs smoothly.
 
Her role includes coordinating legal requirements for real estate closings, liaising with corporate lawyers, and supporting the Governance Board of Directors. Known for her meticulous organization, comprehensive legal knowledge, and ability to build meaningful connections, Kelsey is an invaluable part of the team.
 
Outside the office, she enjoys reading, spin classes, and spending time outdoors with her two boys. She’s a devoted Taylor Swift fan and never says no to a good bowl of popcorn.

ACQUISITION SPECIALIST

Nathan Duncan

Nathan serves as the Acquisition Specialist for Epiphany Group, where he leads the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of properties for the firm’s Limited Portfolios. He also manages the Epiphany Multifamily property portfolio, contributing extensive industry expertise and strategic insight. Nathan leverages his deep understanding of market dynamics to drive strategic acquisitions and align assets with the company’s long-term vision. His commitment to safeguarding shareholder interests and identifying high-value opportunities supports sustainable growth across the organization.
 
With a Bachelor of Management and licenses as a Commercial Realtor, Property Manager, and Condominium Broker, Nathan is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the real estate market. Over the past decade, he has held leadership roles across the industry, successfully managing portfolios totaling over 2,500 doors in key markets including Vancouver, Calgary, and Lethbridge.
 
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, staying active through a variety of sports, and planning their next family adventure.
CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Roger Simpson

Roger is a Co-Founder and Board Member of Epiphany Group, as well as a Board Member of Legacy Mutual Fund Trust. He plays a key role in driving shareholder engagement and clarity, and he chairs the firm’s quarterly investment committee. Roger also contributes to the growth of Epiphany Group through equity and debt initiatives and offers consultative support for Commercial Limited Partnerships as needed.

Roger’s journey began in the family business, Simpson Plumbing, where he transitioned from mechanical contractor to owner after graduating from Medicine Hat College in 1993. Under his leadership, the company expanded from a two-person operation to a thriving team of 20. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for real estate led him to build a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial properties over 15 years. In 2012, Roger co-founded Trophy Fish with Darryl Kenna, a venture that merged business systems with real estate assets. This approach laid the foundation for today’s Epiphany Group.

Outside of work, he enjoys lake time with family, golfing with friends, and chasing collector cars across North America.

Financial & Asset Administrator

Aira Martens

Aira plays a vital role in Epiphany Group’s financial operations, working closely with the CFO to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and seamless execution across the enterprise. As our bookkeeper, financial analyst, and asset administrator, she’s the go-to person when a new process needs to be built or a complex challenge needs solving—bringing both precision and creativity to every task.
 
Known for her resourcefulness and can-do attitude, Aira supports everything from financial reporting to asset oversight with a steady hand and sharp analytical mind. She’s a cornerstone of our operations, helping drive clarity and confidence behind the numbers.
 
Outside of work, Aira enjoys reading and experimenting with new baking recipes to share with family and friends.
Administrative Assistant

Abby Kisio

Abby is the glue that holds Epiphany Group together. With a specialization in supporting operations, she keeps the day-to-day running smoothly through expert coordination and a calm, can-do attitude. From scheduling and greeting guests to managing travel, events, and social media, Abby ensures every detail is handled with care and precision.


Her role spans general office administration, event planning, and digital coordination—making her an essential part of both the front-line experience and behind-the-scenes execution. Whether it’s a new initiative or an unexpected challenge, Abby is the first to step in and figure it out.

Outside of work, Abby is a busy wife and mom of three—two boys in hockey and a daughter in dance—so her evenings and weekends are filled with games, tournaments, and recitals. When she finally gets some downtime, she loves cooking, reading, graphic design, long walks, and horseback riding.

Matt Ewonus

Matt Ewonus is the Chief Executive Officer of Latitude Financial Services. Matt is a founding partner, and under his leadership, Latitude has grown to the 2nd largest firm in Canada by Assets Under Administration under the Sun Life Career Salesforce distribution channel.
Matt has been a Financial Advisor for over 20 years. He co-founded Latitude Financial in 2014, and since then, the firm has received numerous awards based on new sales production and overall business growth. Latitude Financial continues to be a leader in systems and processes within the industry. Matt and his team provide support and insights to their dealership and other financial planning businesses.

VICE CHAIR

Amber Froese

Amber is the Vice President, Marketing and Communications for Rafflebox Technologies, a SaaS tech start-up that helps charities and sports organizations fundraise. She holds a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, NS and a Diploma of Advertising and Public Relations from Lethbridge College. She brings expertise in external communications, governance structure and developing company strategy with the long-term view in mind.
Outside work, she loves to travel and explore new cultures, food, and design. If she’s not reading about travel or management, she’s likely out exploring nature with her family. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the not-for-profit EMI Canada.

BOARD MEMBER

Bernie Loman

Bernie, an Epiphany Group shareholder, is a member of the EG Investment Committee. Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Bernie is actively involved in the Agriculture and Livestock industry, most notably as owner/operator of Spring River Ranch Ltd.
Bernie and his wife Debbie have two daughters.
